Thus the Greatsword is always the better choice in the early game, but in the late game all that matters is which powerful magical item you can craft. The expected damage is higher even with the Orc feature, and even if you somehow had advantage every single attack. This is correct, except you left out the crucial part - Greatsword has higher expected damage than Greataxe. Greataxes are the weapon of choice for orcs, however, since they get an extra die on a crit (+d6 for greatsword, +d12 for greataxe). Greataxe is d12, so it's a bit more random. Greatswords have the advantage of having a bell curve for damage because of the 2d6, so it's a bit more consistently average. Lightbringer or Stormblade are just better. This is correct, except that your character has to be absolutely terrible for +2 to be a better choice. If you're hitting fairly consistently, then Stormblade is better because it adds more damage.
